V-I Cadence Lick #1

by Dan Palladino

The V to I cadence is one of the most common. This lick has some twang to it, and you'll notice the melody outlines the chords nicely. The ending major 6 chord has a pedal steel quality to it.

Notice we have a G to F triad happening over the opening G7 chord? That will work over any dominant chord. Happy practicing!

Just released! One Minute Wonders of the World, a project conceived by Paul Landry of New Age Music Planet. 23 composers contributed one minute of music each, to create the Corona Concerto. My piece begins at 9:43, but the entire piece is a very entertaining listen. --DP
